What the brewers say

"A non-alcoholic Irish Stout with notes of rich chocolate & roast malts."

What our panel thought

“Comes across like a tropical foreign stout—almost peanut-butter creaminess in the nose, very light on the roast character, with dry toast and a coffee-like finish. No hops. Very light, to the point of being watery. Finish is dry, fairly clean, but bland. Light chocolate and nondescript bitterness.”

What our editors thought

“Light chocolate and a woody note on the nose, with a bit of ashy roast. In the sip, light and a touch watery, with a muddled malt character that mixes up light vegetal with light roast and a bit of acidic bite.”

Boulder Beer The Dude’s D’Spare

**Aroma:** “A very mild aroma, with a hint of chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malt. Some fruity yeast esters and dry cocoa with a touch of alcohol heat.” **Flavor:** “Relatively smooth blend of strong roast and vanilla. Chocolate resides underneath, along with some tannic character to tie things together. Nice malt richness. Some oak character. Dark toffee flavors and some iron minerality as it warms.” **Overall:** “Enjoyable with nice chocolate notes and vanilla, but perhaps needed to spend more time in the barrel to pick up more barrel character.”

AleSmith Brewing Co IPA Non-Alcoholic

“A light grainy malt and floral-hop note greet the nose. Light malt body beneath a candied-orange and peach profile. Light bready character in the flavor balances moderate tangerine notes. Very smooth and clean with a medium hop bittering that lingers with tangerine into the finish.”

Ecliptic Brewing Phaser Hazy IPA

Really nice haze with a brilliant orange color. Orange creamsicle nose. The mouthfeel jumps off the scale with big orange notes all the way through the retronasal. Sweet finish with more orange creamsicle flavors. Hits on the classic NEIPA notes.
